This treatment can be used to treat specific areas of concern or to achieve younger-looking skin. PRP uses the patient’s own blood to stimulate a restorative effect. Before the treatment begins, our medical professional draws a small amount of the patient’s blood, which is then spun in a centrifuge to create a product that is rich in plasma and platelets, known as platelet rich plasma (PRP). PRP contains concentrated amounts of growth factors and other elements that promote and support tissue regeneration. PRP has many applications in medicine and has been used for years to support the body’s healing process. PRP is used in aesthetic medicine to stimulate the production of collagen and new tissue growth.

Treatment Overview
While your medical professional creates your PRP solution, patients relax with topical numbing cream to ensure the patient’s comfort. Skin is carefully then cleansed, PRP topically applied and we then use a FDA approved medical device called Skinpen™ to create thousands of tiny micro-punctures in the skin’s surface, across the entire treatment area. Not only does Microneedling help PRP penetrate the deeper layers of the skin, but the tiny wounds created during the process also stimulate the body’s natural healing response. This results in a dramatic increase in collagen and elastin production, which produces smooth, younger-looking skin. The Microneedling procedure can be completed without PRP as well.

Recovery and Results
Immediately after, the treated area will appear red and flushed and improved over 24 hours. There are sun restrictions and other recommendations for best skin recovery over the first week.
